Gates of Catedral de Montevideo … consecrated in 1804.
The Cathedral stands in Plaza Constitucion, the oldest plaza in Montevideo, also known as Plaza Matriz. I wish now that I had gone inside – photos I have seen of the interior are of beautiful spaces that seem too large and expansive to fit into the exterior I viewed from the Plaza. Other details of this facade will show up in photos yet to be posted.
