Erithacus Rubecula

European Robin, as opposed to an American Robin,Turdus migratorius, or the Australian Robin.  I did not know there were so many kinds of robins around the world … bush-robin, scrub-robin, robin-chat, mapgie-robin, Pekin robin.  Earlier this year ornithologist David Lindo ran a campaign to find the UK’s favourite bird.  Apparently this little fellow topped a poll of more than 200,000 people.  Lindo plans to ask the government to officially adopt the robin as the national bird.
