Hi Jude. It is looking down on a discer – I think that’s what it’s called. It’s an implement farmers use for loosening up the soil … or some such. I’m not a farmer, you might have guessed.
Ah, looked it up. So what they use to plough with. Interesting with all the lichen on it. I still think it could be a bird bath 😀 but there is most likely a hole in the middle where it was attached.
What you see in the photo is actually a fairly small concave piece – too small for a bird bath. It is attached, below what you see, to a larger convex piece … now you have me thinking. I’ve never had it the other way, I should take a look. I DO have a bird bath though 🙂

I should add it is no longer being used and sits as an ornament in my garden 🙂
